Finally Finished!!!

I have been working on my movie for what seems an eternity! I finally finished around 1:00 p.m. today. I have been working through IMovie on my MacBook and it is great but I messed up when I bought my laptop and did not get one that burns CD/DVD's. Oh well, I learned how to hook up my laptop to my home IMac and make it like a jump drive or flash drive. Once I did that and maneuvered through all of the application folders, I was able to burn my CD or so I thought. I needed a DVD. Off to Wal-Mart for DVD-R's. Finally after all of that I was able to burn my DVD. In the process, I was able to also burn the slideshow I made for the AWE Kindergarten Graduation this year. I hope to make some moms very happy. The things we do to finish a project. It was a grueling task but now I know how to do it all.

Continuing On

Wow, the last four years have been wonderful. I have had the honor of teaching with two fantastic ladies, Tiffany and Jamie. We really compliment each other very well. We all have different strengths that allowed us to work so well together. Well, it is time for me to move on. I love it at AWE but I have the opportunity to teach where my children attend school. It is a bittersweet move as I am very excited to be going to Conway Christian, but am just as sad to be leaving my good friends. We all have seasons in our life where we are blessed to know people. This has been a great season and plan to continue from a distance.

Back to the Journey

I was able to stay home with my children for twelve years. During that time, I homeschooled Kelsey in K, 1st, part of 2nd, and 3rd grades; Allison in K, 1st, and 2nd grade, Ancil IV in K and 1st grade. Kendra is the only one that I did not officially homeschool. She tells me that she wants me to homeschool her but that she would not want me to be her teacher at school. I think that is best. It was a wonderful season in my life! I started down the path to obtain my teaching license in the fall of 2003. I went the non-traditional route and it has been an interesting ride. I am very thankful that I was able to get into teaching. I was able to receive my standard teaching license in 2006.

Thank You!

I just want to say thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. God is faithful and is sustaining us in his loving hands.

A very tough day

I am breaking away from my teaching focus today. It has been a very tough day. My father-in-law just passed away at 3 p.m. today. It has been a very difficult 3 weeks but he passed away peacefully today with all of his children around him. He loved his kids and grandkids with all of his heart and will be missed deeply.

Many years ago

When I had my first child, we made a commitment for me to stay home and take care of our daughter. God has always provided. As she grew, and our family grew, my husband and I decided to homeschool her for Kindergarten. It was so cool to watch her learn to read. It is just like when she learned to walk and talk. Being with her during her first years of school was fabulous.

It has been a long and adventurous journey

When I graduated in 1989, I never dreamed that twenty years later I would be teaching 2nd grade. I left college with a BBA in Accounting. Through the years, I have worked as a cost accountant, stay at home mom, homeschooling mom, small business owner with my husband, public school teacher, and now a private school teacher. It has been a long and adventurous journey and I can't wait to see what God has in store for the future!
