A very tough day
I am breaking away from my teaching focus today. It has been a very tough day. My father-in-law just passed away at 3 p.m. today. It has been a very difficult 3 weeks but he passed away peacefully today with all of his children around him. He loved his kids and grandkids with all of his heart and will be missed deeply.

Hey Lesley,
My thoughts are with you in your loss. Hope that your husband and family are coping okay. Take care!
Thank you so much for your prayers. God is always faithful!

I just made a comment on another thread about recent losses in my life. So, your post is an important reminder that I need to think of others rather than dwell on myself. I am so sorry for your loss. Through experience all I can say is that God's love through family and friends are the only thing that can get you through. May you and your family feel God's comfort at this time.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know that whenever a person moves from this life into the next, there is a vacancy. But I am so grateful we have memories that allow us to think of them and remember great moments that we had together. A preacher of mine in Texas once delivered a sermon on our bodies as tents, and as we grow older, our tents become aged, too. At one point, our tents can no longer serve the purpose that they had and we must trade our tents (our temporary bodies) for eternal tents (bodies). I loved that analogy, and found it very comforting. I am not sure why, but it was something that I could wrap my mind around and understand.
Lesley,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Alicia
You know I am here for you! I'll hold your family in my heart and prayers! Love ya!
Keeping you in my thoughts.
I'm so sorry--I'll be praying for you and your family. Let me know if I can do anything.
I am sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
I know I'm a little late in sending this, but I've added you and your family to my long prayer list. I didn't really know what to say today while we were working on those lovely bulletin boards, but my heart goes out to you and your family!
I am sorry for your loss but can empathize with your feelings. My mother died the day after Mother's Day and it was a very rough time for us. The weeks following are full of emotions that can be confusing and overwhelming but it can also be a time of reflection. Prayers and the knowledge that they are in a wonderful place of peace from pain can be a great help. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Lesley, I know it's rough. I still miss my brother and it's been almost 19 years. It gets easier.
